Pretty New Yarn (& Stuff)!:
1. An absolutely amazing package from a kind and extremely generous viewer/friend of the podcast, Michele.

Book:
The Time Traveler's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger.

In the context of re-reading books, I mentioned the Harry Potter series and Tamora Pierce's Tortall novels, which are several quartets/series of young adult fantasy with awesome lady characters. If you aren't familiar, start with the Alanna quartet (beginning with Alanna: The First Adventure) -- they are my favorite (closely followed by the quartet about Daine).

Other Miscellaneous Mentions:
1. I mentioned the special episode of The Knitting Expat/Little Bobbins' Curious Handmade Country House retreat, which was such a treat! Mina and Dani were joined at the end by Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade and Paula Emons-Fuessle of the Knitting Pipeline (I can't believe I forgot Paula's name! I even knit one of her patterns recently).
2. I mentioned the Fine & Dandy sock pattern by The Sweater Co. Currently, all proceeds from this sock pattern are going to UNICEF.
3. The Van Gogh Bedroom exhibit at the Art Institute! I was right - the paintings are of Van Gogh's room in Arles.
4. I was wearing my Red Robin shawl (link to my Ravelry page) by Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade.
5. If you are ever in Chicago the last weekend of July, I recommend saving space in your luggage and checking out the Newberry Library's used book sale! It's a Friday/Saturday/Sunday event, most books are $2 or less, and people line up outside waiting for the doors to open. It's a real Chicago event. Plus, the Newberry is a gorgeous building and independent research libraries are super great.
