Episode Thirty-Two - Better Late Than Never

Welcome to episode thirty-two of "Stitching Between Pages"! I hope you enjoy watching, and thank you for checking it out. Apologies for the very loud sirens at approximately 21 minutes and 33 minutes... the downside of living on a main drag in a city. I don't even really hear them anymore!

Please get in touch!

Spinning:
I'm slowly working through my braid of Malabrigo Nube (100% merino) in the Piedras colorway. I'm about halfway done and I'm spinning on my Schacht Hi-Lo spindle as usual.

Pretty New Yarn!:
"Tico and the Golden Wings" on the Charlotte fingering base from Swatch This Fiber Arts.

Book:
Life After Life, by Kate Atkinson. (I also mentioned her detective novels featuring Jackson Brodie; the first one is called Case Histories.)

Other Miscellaneous Mentions:
1. Printer's Row Lit Fest in the South Loop. If you're ever in Chicago on the appropriate June weekend, I highly recommend checking it out. It's the largest outdoor/free lit fest in the Midwest. If you're in Chicago during the last weekend of July, come check out the Newberry Library Book Fair -- another amazing event, billed as "Chicago's favorite used-book binge."
2. We're having another KAL! It's with the lovely Robyn and Merry of the Cherry Purls podcast. The Summer Colors KAL is running through 31 July, and the idea is to knit something using at least two different colorways of yarn (you can use more!). WIPs that are less than 50% done as of 1 June may be entered. There are chatter and FO threads in the Ravelry group, so come on over and let us know what you will be knitting. There's also an Instagram hashtag, which I keep forgetting to mention -- #summercolorskal. I also shared some of the lovely prizes we had donated by friends of the podcast on this episode -- two gorgeous skeins of yarn, one the "Goldfinch" colorway from West Yorkshire Spinners, and the other a beautiful skein in the "Wind in the Willows" colorway dyed by Swatch This Fiber Arts. I'll also be sewing up a little project bag as a prize for the FO thread and drawing for a pattern prize ($7USD or less) from the chatter thread.
